High-Volume Production, Cost-Effective “Cut” Finish, Consistent Flux Output
We supply Custom Micro AlNiCo Cylinder Magnets.
They are common magnetic components for high-volume sensor and instrumentation manufacturers.
These “Sensor Grade” cylinders are designed to be encapsulated, potted, or over-molded inside your device.
As shown in the product photo, we produce these with a Functional Wire-Cut or Sintered Finish.
This eliminates unnecessary cosmetic polishing.
We can reduce unit costs while maintaining the critical magnetic properties and temperature stability (up to 550ยฐC).
We are not just selling a magnet.
We are supplying the reliable “heart” of your Hall Effect sensor, speedometer, or pick-up coil.
Why Source This from Us?
For Procurement Managers and Production Engineers, the priority is consistency and scalability.
1. “Functional Finish” Cost Savings:
The Observation:
– The magnets in the photo have a textured surface.
The Value:
– This is intentional.
– If your magnet is going to be glued inside a plastic housing or wrapped in copper wire, you don’t need to pay for a mirror polish.
– We supply these with a “Wire EDM Cut” or “As-Sintered” surface.
– This lowers your BOM (Bill of Materials) cost without sacrificing performance.
Bonus:
– The rougher texture actually improves adhesion for epoxy and potting compounds.
2. Batch-to-Batch Consistency (Calibration):
The Pain Point:
– In sensor manufacturing, if the magnetic flux varies between shipments, your assembly line has to stop to re-calibrate the sensors.
Our Promise:
– We maintain strict control over the Alloy Mixture (Al-Ni-Co-Fe).
– We guarantee that the flux output of the 50,000th piece matches the 1st piece.
– This allows your production line to run smoothly without constant recalibration.
3. Scalability & Blanket Orders:
The Capacity:
– We are set up for volume.
– Whether you need 500 prototypes or a monthly delivery of 100,000 pieces, we can meet your needs flexibly.
Technical & Material Specifications
The “Rough” Texture Explained:
The texture visible in the photo is characteristic of Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) or Sintering.
– Sintered AlNiCo: Best for tiny, complex shapes. Physically stronger than Cast AlNiCo.
– Cast AlNiCo: Higher magnetic energy, but more brittle.
– Tolerance: Despite the rougher look, we hold length/diameter tolerances of ยฑ0.05mm as standard.
Material Data:
– Grades: AlNiCo 2, 5, or 8. (AlNiCo 5 is the industry standard for sensors).
– Temp Rating: Stable up to 550ยฐC.
– Corrosion: inherently rust-proof. No plating required.
Supply Chain: Packaging for Automation
Tiny magnets are a logistics nightmare if packed poorly.
We solve this problem.
– Tube Packing: We can stack these cylinders in plastic tubes for easy feeding into automated pick-and-place machinery.
– Tray Packing: Organized rows for manual assembly.
– Cleanliness: All parts are washed and demagnetized (if required) to ensure no metal swarf or debris enters your cleanroom environment.
Ideal Applications (High Volume)
Hall Effect Sensors: The permanent magnet bias inside automotive position sensors (Crankshaft/Camshaft).
Metering: Pulse-generating magnets in water and gas meters.
Security: Reed switch activators in door/window frames.
Education: Low-cost bulk magnets for science kits.
Request for Quotation (RFQ) Guide
To provide a competitive volume quote, please share:
1). Dimensions: Diameter x Length.
2). Surface Requirement: “Is ‘Wire Cut’ finish acceptable?” (Check yes to save cost).
3). Application: “Is this for a Sensor or a Holding application?” (Helps us select Cast vs. Sintered).
4). Annual Volume: “What is your estimated annual usage?” (Allows us to calculate raw material allocation).
