Description

High Flux Density, Optimized Power-to-Cost Ratio

N35 is the market standard for generic magnets.
Our N45 grade custom discs are designed for applications where standard strength isn’t enough.

20-25% more holding force

N45 delivers approximately 20-25% more holding force than standard N35 magnets of the same size.
It’s the sweet spot when need to maximize magnetic strength in limited space without paying the premium cost of N52.

Custom-sized to your specs

We supply these discs sized to your exact diameter and thickness.
Ensure a perfect fit for your assembly.

Why Choose Grade N45?

Most buyers default to N35 (Standard) or N52 (Max Power).

Here is why N45 is often the smarter choice:

1. The “Space vs. Power” Balance:
In some cases, your housing design is fixed and you cannot increase the magnet’s volume.
Switching from N35 to N45 allows you to gain significant holding force.
And it won’t require you to change your molds or tooling.
It is a “drop-in” performance upgrade.

2. The Cost Efficiency:
Grade N52 requires the purest Neodymium/Dysprosium mix.
So, it carries a high price premium.

N45 sits in the “efficiency curve”.
It delivers near-peak performance.
But costs significantly less than N50 or N52.
It is the preferred grade for high-volume commercial manufacturing.

3. Truth in Grading:
Many generic suppliers label weak magnets as “N50.”
We provide certified N45 material with a Br (Residual Flux Density) of 13.2โ€“13.8 kGs.
We can provide Demagnetization Curves (BH Curves) with your production batch upon request.

Manufacturing Capabilities: Precision Discs

1. Centerless Grinding (Diameter Control):
Some discs must be press-fit into machined pockets (aluminum or plastic).
Their diameter tolerance is critical.
We use centerless grinding technology to achieve strict circularity.

– Standard Tolerance: ยฑ0.05mm.
– Precision Press-Fit: We can hold ยฑ0.02mm on the diameter for interference fits.

2. Thickness & Parallelism:
– Controlled slicing ensures the top and bottom faces are parallel.
– This is essential if the magnet is a contact point for sensors or electrical connectors.

3. Edge Condition (Chamfer):
A sharp 90ยฐ edge on a strong disc magnet is prone to chipping when it snaps onto a metal surface.

Standard:
We apply a small tumble radius (approx R0.1mm) to all edges.
It prevents chipping during assembly and shipping.

Magnetization Directions

How the magnetic field is oriented affects your application:

Axially Magnetized (Most Common):
– The North and South poles are on the flat circular faces.
– This is used for holding, clamping, and closures.

Diametrically Magnetized:
– The poles are on the curved sides (like a rolling wheel).
– This is used for rotational sensors, motor shafts, and magnetic couplings.

Ideal Applications for N45

Audio Components: High-performance speaker drivers and headphone drivers where flux density equals sound quality.
Heavy Duty Closures: Magnetic latches for heavy packaging or architectural panels where N35 feels too “weak.”
Holding Assemblies: Pot magnets and cup magnets where maximum pull force is required from a small footprint.
RPM Sensors: High-speed trigger magnets.

Ordering Guide

To provide an accurate quote, please specify the following:

1). Dimensions: Diameter x Thickness.
2). Tolerances: Do you need standard (ยฑ0.05mm) or Precision (ยฑ0.02mm)?
3). Coating: Ni-Cu-Ni (Standard Silver), Zinc, or Black Epoxy?
4). Application: “Will this be press-fit into a hole?”
– If yes, we will pay extra attention to the Diameter tolerance.
