Eliminate belt slippage and maximize line speed with our Custom Magnetic Transport Rollers.
Suitable for Press Feed Lines, Sheet Stackers/Destackers, and Cut-to-Length systems.
These rollers provide the critical holding force.
Necessary to accelerate and decelerate ferrous sheets rapidly without losing position.
Standard pinch rollers rely on friction and crushing force.
Our magnetic rollers use a High-Gradient Internal Magnet Assembly to grip the steel sheet from one side.
This allows for suspended overhead conveying, vertical transfer.
And high-speed indexing of Automotive Class A Body Panels and Electrical Steel Laminations.
No risk of scratching or shifting.
Engineering & Manufacturing Capabilities
Controlled Magnetic Depth:
Separation pulleys throw a deep field.
Transport rollers require a shallow, high-intensity field.
We build the internal multipole circuit to focus the holding force within the first 5mm-10mm of the roller surface.
Ensure maximum grip on thin gauge steel (0.5mm โ 3.0mm).
And minimize residual magnetism in the workpiece.
Surface Protection Options:
Hard Chrome Plating:
For standard industrial handling.
Provide extreme wear resistance against sharp sheet edges.
Non-Marring Urethane/Rubber:
For cosmetic surfaces (e.g., car hoods, appliance panels).
We encapsulate the magnetic roller in a precision-ground Urethane sleeve.
Provide high traction while preventing surface scratches.
Shaft Configurations:
Live Shaft:
The shaft rotates with the roller (Standard for drive pulleys).
Dead Shaft:
The shaft is stationary.
And the roller rotates on internal bearings (Ideal for idler positions).
Customization Options
A. Magnetic Strength Profiles
Standard Hold:
Ferrite-based assemblies for general conveying of thick plates and structural steel.
High-Speed / Thin Gauge:
Neodymium-based assemblies.
Thin steel is harder to hold magnetically (it saturates quickly).
Our Neodymium rollers provide intense flux density.
Necessary to grip ultra-thin silicon steel.
Or galvanized sheets moving at high velocities (>200m/min).
B. Roller Geometry
Full-Width Magnetic:
The entire face of the roller is magnetic.
Best for heavy plates.
Segmented / Discs:
We place magnetic “hubs” spaced out along a non-magnetic shaft.
This reduces weight and cost.
Allow for adjustable spacing to handle different sheet widths.
C. Temperature Capability
Hot Stamping / Annealing:
For lines processing hot steel, we use Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets.
And high-temperature bearings.
Capable of operating at 300ยฐC+ without losing holding force.
Increase your cycle times safely.
Slippage kills efficiency.
If your rollers spin but the sheet doesn’t move, you are losing money.
Request a Traction Analysis.
Send us your Sheet Thickness, Line Speed (m/min), and Acceleration (G-Force).
We will calculate the required magnetic holding force.
And recommend the optimal roller diameter.
