Fine Pole (0.5+1.5 mm), Angular Precision
The MCS Series combines a high-precision permanent magnetic chuck with a hardened “Sine Base.”
Designed for the toolroom, this fixture allows operators to grind or erode (EDM) workpieces at precise angles (from 0∘ to 60∘) with gauge-block accuracy.
Integrated Fine Pole Technology
Standard sine plates require you to bolt a separate magnet on top.
The MCS features an Integrated Fine Pole Magnetic Face.
The Pitch:
It utilizes a Micro-Pitch specification of 1.5 mm (Steel) + 0.5 mm (Brass).
The Benefit:
This ultra-fine spacing is critical for holding small, thin, or delicate parts securely.
It ensures the magnetic flux loops are tight and concentrated.
Preventa small parts from moving during the grinding process.
Rigid Construction
Material:
The entire body is constructed from High-Quality Alloy Tool Steel (SKS/Cr12 equivalent).
It has been heat-treated and hardened.
Stability:
The heat treatment process relieves internal stress.
It ensures the fixture retains its flatness (0.005 mm/100 mm).
And does not warp over years of heavy use.
Low Profile:
The integrated design results in a lower overall height compared to bolted-on assemblies.
This provides valuable extra clearance for your grinding wheel (Z-axis).
How to use this effectively
1. The “Sine Bar” Principle
This fixture uses the trigonometric “Sine” function to set angles.
How to set the angle:
You calculate the sine of your desired angle, multiply it by the center-to-center distance of the rollers.
Usually 100 mm or similar, depending on the model.
And stack Gauge Blocks (Jo Blocks) to that exact height.
Why use this method?
It is far more accurate than using a protractor or degree scale.
The MCS series ensures an angular precision of 0.007 mm/100 mm.
2. Positive Locking Mechanism
Once the angle is set using gauge blocks, the side locking straps (visible in the photo) clamp the hinged top plate rigidly in place. This “Positive Locking” ensures that the vibration from the grinding wheel does not shift the angle during the pass, guaranteeing a perfect surface finish.
3. Application: Small Parts & EDM
Because of the 0.5 mm brass spacing, this unit is excellent for Wire EDM and Sink EDM applications.
You need to machine a bevel or draft angle onto a small mold insert.
The fine pole pitch holds the insert firmly.
Meanwhile, not needing messy adhesives or clamps.
Standard Supply Package
1). 1x MCS Sine Magnetic Chuck: (Choose size: 175×100 mm, 150×150 mm, etc.).
