Wide Pole (15 mm) Design, The Milling Powerhouse
The PMC P Series is our strongest manually activated permanent magnetic chuck.
It is suitable for milling and planing workpieces over 10 mm thick.
Standard chucks can be limited to grinding.
The PMC P Series generates a massive holding force of 150 N/cm2 (15 kgf/cm2).
This giving it the shear strength required to withstand cutting forces from CNC milling machines.
The “Wide Pole” Advantage (P:12+3)
The defining feature of this series is its coarse pole pitch configuration:
– 12 mm of Steel + 3 mm of Brass.
Deep Magnetic Penetration:
This wider spacing projects the magnetic field much deeper (up to 12 mm) into the workpiece than standard grinding chucks.
Rough Stock Capability:
Because the magnetic loop is larger, it can successfully bridge “Air Gaps” caused by rough surfaces.
This makes it ideal for holding black bar, castings, and rough-milled blocks that aren’t perfectly flat yet.
Key Performance Features
High Power Density:
150 N/cm2 holding force allows for aggressive feed rates.
And deeper cuts compared to standard magnetic chucks.
Waterproof & Durable:
Fully sealed against coolant ingress (IP67 equivalent).
Ensure longevity even in flood-coolant milling environments.
Wear Life:
Features a thick top plate.
Allow for up to 5 mm of regrinding/maintenance over the chuck’s lifespan.
Why choose the “P” Series?
1. The Solution for “Uneven” Surfaces
Standard grinding chucks (like our PMC S series) require the workpiece to be relatively flat to hold well.
The PMC P Series, however, is forgiving.
Its deep magnetic field can grip workpieces with mill scale, rust.
Or, slight warpage (10 mm thickness or greater), pulling them down flat for the first machining operation.
2. Cordless Freedom for Pallet Changers
This unit generates 150 N/cm2 using permanent Neodymium magnets.
It requires zero electricity.
Benefit:
This is the perfect solution for Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) with pallet changers.
You can load the part at the station, activate the handle.
And the pallet can swap into the machine without any cables to manage or disconnect.
3. Milling vs. Grinding
While you can use this for grinding, it is optimized for milling.
Pro-Tip:
If you are machining parts thinner than 5 mm , use the PMC-S or PMCM series.
But if you are milling steel plates 10 mm and thicker, the PMC P Series is the superior choice due to its higher shear resistance.
Standard Supply Package
1). 1x PMC P Series Milling Chuck: (Heavy-duty block).
2). 1x High-Torque Handle: Heavy-duty Hex/Allen key for activation.
3). Side & Back Rails: Robust stops to assist in taking up shear forces during heavy cutting.
4). Mounting Clamps: For securing to the machine table.
Optional Configuration
Super-Wide Pitch (15+4 mm):
For very large, rough castings, we can offer a custom pitch to increase air-gap handling capabilities:
15 mm Steel + 4 mm Brass.
