Grade N52, Certified High-Flux, Precision Slicing
We offer Custom N52 Square and Rectangular Block Magnets.
Grade N52 represents the strongest commercially available permanent magnet material.
They have a Maximum Energy Product (BHmax) of 50โ52 MGOe.
These blocks provide approximately 20% more holding force than standard N42 magnets of the same size.
N52 is the mandatory engineering choice, when you cannot increase the size of the magnet but need more power.
Common cases include high-performance motors, magnetic couplings, or a mini latches.
We supply these blocks sliced to your exact Length, Width, and Thickness tolerances.
Why N52 Blocks?
N52 is a premium material.
Here is why engineers may need it:
1. Miniaturization (Weight Reduction):
The Logic:
An N52 block allows you to use a smaller magnet to achieve the same pull force as a larger N35 block.
The Benefit:
This is critical for aerospace, drones, and handheld devices.
Every gram of weight and millimeter of space matters for them.
You can shrink your housing without losing function.
2. Bridging the “Air Gap”:
The Application:
Magnetic sensors or latches hidden behind plastic/wood.
The Physics:
Magnetic force drops off rapidly over distance.
N52 has massive Residual Induction (Br).
It allows the magnetic field to “punch” through thicker air gaps.
Or housing walls better than any other grade.
3. Grade Integrity:
The Market Risk:
“Fake N52” is common.
Many suppliers deliver N48 labeled as N52.
Our Guarantee:
We provide Certified N52.
We can supply a Demagnetization Curve report with your batch proving the material meets the 50-52 MGOe standard.
Manufacturing Advisory: Chamfers & Heat
N52 blocks are powerful but sensitive.
1. The “Snap” Hazard (Chamfering):
The Risk:
N52 blocks attract each other with extreme force.
When they slam together, the impact shock can shatter the brittle edges.
Our Solution:
As shown in the product photo, we apply a Radius Chamfer (Rounded Edge) to all block magnets.
This reduces stress concentrations at the corners.
And significantly lowers the risk of chipping during assembly.
2. Temperature Limit:
The Limit:
To achieve N52 strength, the material is optimized for room temperature.
It typically loses permanent strength above 60ยฐC โ 80ยฐC.
The Advice:
Do not use N52 blocks in high-temp motors (over 80ยฐC).
For hot environments, use N48H or N50M.
Ideal Applications
High-Speed Actuators: Voice coil motors requiring max acceleration.
Magnetic Couplings: Transferring torque through a barrier.
Heavy Duty Holding: Mounting brackets that must support high loads.
Sensor Triggers: Hall effect sensors requiring a strong signal.
Ordering Guide: Precision Slicing
To quote these accurately, please define:
1). Dimensions: Length x Width x Thickness.
Note: In blocks, the Thickness usually denotes the magnetization direction (N/S poles).
2). Magnetization: “Is the magnet magnetized through the Thickness (standard) or the Length?”
3). Application: “Will this be exposed to heat >80ยฐC?” (Crucial for N52).
4). Quantity: N52 material is expensive; precise quantities help us minimize waste.
