Grade N54, Diameter down to 0.5mm, Precision +/- 0.005mm
We offer Custom Mini Neodymium Cylinder Magnets using Grade N54 material.
This is currently the strongest permanent magnet grade available on the market.
We use it specifically for micro-sized magnets.
When a magnet is very small (like a pinhead), it needs the highest possible grade to be useful.
N54 gives you the maximum holding force possible in the smallest amount of space.
Why Choose Grade N54?
N54 is stronger than the standard N50 or N52 grades.
More Power, Same Size:
If your current N52 magnet is too weak, but you cannot make it bigger, switching to N54 gives you a power boost.
Approximately 5-8% stronger without changing your design.
Best for Micro-Parts:
For a magnet with a 0.5mm diameter, every bit of magnetic flux counts.
N54 ensures that even a tiny dot magnet is strong enough.
So it can trigger a sensor or hold a small latch.
Precision Manufacturing: The +/- 0.005mm Difference
We don’t just cut these magnets; we grind them to exact sizes.
1. Ultra-Small Sizes:
We can manufacture cylinders with a diameter as small as 0.5mm.
2. Swiss-Level Precision:
Standard magnets usually have a tolerance of +/- 0.05mm.
For these mini cylinders, we can offer a precision tolerance of +/- 0.005mm (5 microns).
Why this matters:
If you press the magnet into a precision-drilled hole (like in a watch or medical tool), a standard magnet might be too loose or too tight.
Our precision magnets fit perfectly every time.
Coating & Handling
Because these magnets are tiny and precise, the coating is important.
Parylene Coating:
Thick Nickel plating can sometimes ruin the strict +/- 0.005mm tolerance.
We often recommend Parylene.
It is a very thin, uniform coating that protects the magnet without changing its size too much.
– Handling Warning: A 0.5mm magnet is very hard to see and handle.
– Do not use steel tweezers (the magnet will stick to them).
– Use vacuum tools or plastic tweezers.
– Open the package carefully in a clean area so you don’t lose them.
Ideal Applications
Medical Devices: Catheter tips and micro-surgical tools.
Watchmaking: Tiny rotors inside mechanical watch movements.
Micro-Sensors: Hall effect triggers in miniature electronics.
Fiber Optics: Precision alignment components.
Ordering Guide
To get a quote, please let us know:
1). Dimensions: Diameter x Length (e.g., 0.5mm x 2mm).
2). Tolerance: Do you need the high precision +/- 0.005mm, or is the standard +/- 0.05mm okay? (Standard is cheaper).
3). Coating: Nickel, Parylene, or Uncoated?
4). Quantity: These are usually produced in batches (e.g., 1,000 pieces).
